Dave Hughes

Comedian originally born in Victoria but started his career in comedy in WA when he was on the dole. (yes another WA comedian who has deserted WA for Melbourne). He has become quite successful now having gigs all over the country.

Dave Hughes has been on such television shows as World Cup Comedy (where he was a memeber of the Australian team), O'Loghlin on Saturday Night, Rove, rove [live] (which he appeared on twice), and Jimeoin's Just For Laughs. He's a regular on The Glass House on the ABC with Wil Anderson and Corinne Grant.

In 2001, after selling out his Melbourne Comedy Festival show "Full On" and co-hosting the Raw Comedy National Final with Dave O'Neil, Dave was invited to perform at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival - the biggest comedy festival in the world. What an honour!

His 2000 stand up show "Super Toasty Loaf" was performed at Melbourne comedy festival and Sydney's Fringe Festival. Nearly all of his shows were sold out.

Dave has also occasionally been heard on triple J radio.

Hughes was also nominated for the 1999 Stella Award.
